Are You Really Ready for a Dog?


Getting a dog as a pet in a family should be a well thought out decision. It should not be an impulsive decision as getting a dog is a big responsibility after all. Read the following before decide to have a dog not only GSD but any breed.

1.Dog need companion as they are pack animal so you have to devote time after your dog. Think first, do you have time for a dog.

2.Does your living place allow dog? If you are in a rented house ask your landlord’s permission for dog. Not all neighborhood and building are dog friendly so be sure if a dog is welcome to your neighbor.

3.Think who besides you will go to live with the dog. Does every member of your family appreciate your decision? If someone of your family hate or afraid of dog then you may face a problem in future.

4.Do you have a family member who could have hard time with your dog like a baby, a senior citizen with poor balance or a person with allergy predisposition that could be aggravated by dog coat, mites.

5.Do you have any other pets in your house like cat, rabbit, ferret etc?

6.Do you know some time dog do some mischievous work like drag in dart to room, catch and kill rodent and then threw them inside living room.

7.Do you have sufficient money to spend after a dog? Dog needs balanced food, may be packaged or home cooked. Some time dogs requires to be spayed, need vaccinations, may need emergency vet care. Besides getting leash, collar, create, toys are mandatory for a pet dog.

Dog is man’s best friend and its ownership is a joy but think twice before getting one and not let yourself regret later.
